Strategy's latest 8-K filing shows that the company did not buy or sell any Bitcoin last week, ending several consecutive weeks of Bitcoin disposals since June. Its Bitcoin holdings remain at 840,447 BTC, with an average purchase cost of $75,385 per BTC.

Completed a $334 million funding round this week

The company disclosed that it raised approximately $334 million this week through the sale of MSTR shares. At the same time, Strategy increased its dollar reserves by $150 million and repurchased $132 million in STRC preferred shares.

Bitcoin position remains unchanged for now.

Since May, Strategy has sold a total of 6,948 bitcoins, cashing out approximately $432.5 million. During this period, the company first sold 32 bitcoins—the first reduction since 2022—followed by consecutive weekly sales in July and August.

Just last week, Strategy sold 1,690 bitcoins, raising $108.6 million. The proceeds were subsequently used to repurchase the same class of preferred shares covered by equity financing this week.

The capital framework for June is still in effect.

These bitcoins for sale are part of a capital allocation program launched by Strategy in June. Under this framework, the company may sell up to $1.25 billion in bitcoins to pay dividends, interest, repurchase shares, and supplement reserves.

  • Used amount: approximately $429 million
  • Remaining available credit is approximately $820 million
  • Last week, this selling quota was not utilized.

Current holding value is below cumulative cost

Since June, the strategy has also added no new Bitcoin purchases. Based on Bitcoin’s price of approximately $63,500 on Monday, the company’s current holdings have a market value of about $53.4 billion, below its cumulative purchase cost of $63.36 billion, resulting in a difference of approximately $9.9 billion.

Based on the disclosed information, Strategy's recent focus remains on adjusting its balance sheet structure through equity financing and preferred share repurchases, rather than further increasing its Bitcoin holdings.

Additional information: The company also disclosed that, as of August 16, its USD reserves amounted to $4.8 billion.
