Huo Xing Finance reports that publicly traded technology company Strategy recently disclosed the sale of 1,690 bitcoins last week, amounting to approximately $1.086 billion. To date, the company has sold 6,948 bitcoins this year for approximately $4.325 billion, while still holding over 840,000 bitcoins valued at roughly $53.6 billion. In late June, Strategy launched the Digital Credit Capital Framework, permitting the sale of up to $1.25 billion in bitcoins to bolster U.S. dollar reserves, pay preferred stock dividends and interest, and repurchase shares. As of August 2, the company’s U.S. dollar reserves reached $4 billion. Strategy stated that proceeds from recent sales were partially used to pay preferred stock dividends and repurchase STRC shares. In May, the company sold 32 bitcoins—the first such sale since 2022—after which STRC’s share price fell below $100, limiting its ability to issue new shares and raise capital.
