Editor’s note: In our pre-holiday crypto and stock market indicator, we strongly advised readers to “exercise caution and prioritize risk management.” As predicted, the post-holiday stock market has performed in a highly unpredictable manner.
Over the past two weeks, both U.S. and Korean stock markets have experienced a certain degree of decline. Unlike previous trends that leaned toward corrective rebounds, recent weaknesses persist despite macroeconomic and geopolitical tailwinds, also somewhat dampening expectations of Fed rate hikes. In the AI sector, as Anthropic’s IPO target date approaches, no stimulating positive catalysts have emerged; instead, Anthropic’s prospectus revealed the fragile revenue structure of current AI giants and their ongoing battle with escalating costs.
Given the current situation, research institutions and asset management firms are also voting with their feet: BlackRock Investment Institute recently adjusted its U.S. asset allocation, upgrading its rating on short-term U.S. Treasuries to overweight and raising long-term U.S. Treasuries from underweight to neutral, ending its six-year stance of underweighting U.S. Treasuries. At the same time, the firm downgraded its rating on U.S. equities from overweight to neutral and reduced its rating on U.S. agency mortgage-backed securities (MBS). Morgan Stanley believes that the bond market is prematurely completing part of the monetary tightening that the Fed originally intended to achieve through policy rate hikes, which could instead create conditions to alleviate pressure on the stock market. Morgan Stanley’s Chief U.S. Equity Strategist, Mike Wilson, noted that investors should currently focus on two key indicators: the performance of financial stocks and bond market volatility. If the September CPI comes in mildly, easing pressure in the bond market, the Fed may gain more room to observe, and the stock market could also gain a broader foundation for upward movement.
Tokenized U.S. stock trading, which the crypto market has high hopes for, is still in its early stages. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently noted that tokenized U.S. stocks enable 24/7 trading and fractional share ownership, with over half of all trades occurring outside regular market hours and approximately 80% of trades involving less than one share. Overnight price movements contain meaningful information, with more than 85% of price changes reflected in traditional stock prices within five minutes of market open; the tokenized stock market remains small and fragmented, offering potential improvements in settlement and automation processes, but requires stronger legal, liquidity, and interoperability safeguards.
With the U.S. midterm elections approaching, global capital markets may continue to experience short-term volatility and pullbacks until the results are announced; a rapid surge would require policy-related tailwinds. Readers are advised to adopt a defensive strategy when participating in capital markets to avoid further downside pressure.

Representative companies with ETH treasury holdings
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) announced on October 12 that it holds approximately 6.03 million ETH, accounting for about 4.9% of ETH’s total supply. Last week, the company increased its holdings by 12,532 ETH, raising its total stake beyond 6 million ETH and bringing it within reach of its 5% target of ETH’s total supply. In addition to ETH, the company’s total holdings of crypto assets, cash, tradable securities, and other investments amount to approximately $16.2 billion. The company has staked 5,067,309 ETH, valued at approximately $12.9 billion based on the announcement data, representing about 84% of its total ETH holdings.
Tom Lee stated that since the launch of the ETH treasury strategy on June 30, 2025, the company has been purchasing ETH on a weekly basis. He expects that once all of the company’s held ETH has been staked through MAVAN and its partners, the annualized staking income could reach approximately $400 million, based on the current seven-day yield of 2.61%. Additionally, the company’s perpetual preferred stock BMNP closed at $99.53, above its issuance price of $80 per share. Tom Lee believes that tokenization, wealth transfer, and AI-related demand will drive the growth of the crypto market, and Bitmine is poised to benefit from the next bull cycle.
Tom Lee: Ethereum could break $5,000 by year-end, with this cycle potentially reaching $50,000
Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine, the Ethereum treasury company, recently stated in an interview that Ethereum could reach $25,000 to $50,000 in this cycle. He believes that ETH has oscillated within a similar range over the past five years, and prolonged consolidation may lay the foundation for a more significant breakout.
Tom Lee also expects ETH’s year-end price to exceed $5,000, noting that if Bitcoin rises above $100,000, ETH could reach approximately $7,500. However, market prediction data shows that traders currently believe there is only a 4% chance ETH will reach $5,000 before the end of 2026.

Additionally, its recently established $300 million over-the-counter issuance program (CHAD ATM) will provide additional funding to further expand its SOL reserves.
In early October, Solana treasury company HSDT announced the completion of a $15 million equity offering at a 5% premium to the company’s net asset value, accompanied by warrants. The company plans to use the proceeds to acquire more SOL or repurchase shares. HSDT currently holds approximately 2.3 million SOL, valued at around $274 million.
