The official demonstration showcased its long-task capability: Step 5 preview autonomously optimized H100 GPU kernels for 24 consecutive hours, reaching 508 TFlops after 22 hours, surpassing Claude Opus 5’s 493 TFlops. In another experiment, Step 5 preview designed training data that improved Qwen3-30b-A3B’s accuracy on AIME24 from 53.3% to 60%, using fewer annotated tokens.
