According to Beating Monitor, Flo Crivello, founder of Lindy, Apple’s native AI assistant for iMessage, announced that all user-facing traffic has been fully migrated from Anthropic to the open-source model DeepSeek v4. The switch not only saved the company millions of dollars but also improved performance in many core business scenarios. To run DeepSeek v4, the team developed extensive infrastructure and internal tools, with actual effort reaching 100 times the original estimate. In selecting a server provider, Lindy evaluated all major cloud vendors and unexpectedly chose the relatively obscure cloud computing provider Atlas Cloud. Although all user-facing services have been fully migrated, Lindy’s internal employees continue to use Anthropic models for programming and office tasks, largely due to highly discounted enterprise contracts. The system retains Claude Opus as a fallback solution, automatically invoking it when DeepSeek v4 fails on complex tasks. Crivello believes that Chinese large models’ low-price strategy will exert long-term profit pressure on U.S. competitors, but Anthropic’s enterprise relationships and brand advantages remain a strong moat.

Lindy, the iMessage-native AI assistant startup, has fully migrated user traffic to DeepSeek v4, saving millions and enhancing performance. The team developed custom tools capable of handling 100 times the expected workload. Atlas Cloud, a lesser-known provider, was chosen over major vendors. Anthropic models continue to be used for internal tasks and as a fallback for complex work. Founder Flo Crivello noted that China’s low-cost AI strategy could pose a challenge to U.S. firms. Altcoins to watch may benefit from shifting technology budgets. Movements in the Fear and Greed Index could reflect broader market sentiment surrounding these transitions.
