StarkWare Reduces Quantum-Safe BTC Transaction Cost to $66 Using AI-Assisted Programming

According to Huoxing Finance, on September 24, blockchain technology company StarkWare reported that, following a week of AI-assisted programming, the estimated computational cost for its quantum-secure Bitcoin transaction dropped from approximately $320 to $66, a reduction of about 79%. Previously, a related transaction completed by StarkWare in August required around 3,100 hours of computation time and approximately 100 GPUs, with an estimated computational cost of $320. Subsequently, StarkWare launched a code optimization competition, in which participants used AI tools to improve search efficiency, increasing computational speed by approximately five times. This solution employs a hashing mechanism to help Bitcoin mitigate potential quantum computing threats without requiring a soft fork upgrade to the Bitcoin network. However, the $66 figure remains an estimate based on test results; the optimized code has not yet been proven to successfully execute another transaction mined on the Bitcoin network.
