According to the original post of the StandX official announcement, after a strategic assessment of business and macro market conditions, the decentralized derivatives trading platform StandX has decided to officially initiate a phased shutdown process and has clearly abandoned the launch of its native platform token. To settle and reward early participants, the protocol will consolidate all remaining platform revenue and additional team contributions to distribute a one-time, no-lockup DUSD asset airdrop to the community.
Remaining funds allocated to the airdrop pool: Full unvested distribution plan for DUSD
Unlike the tokenized governance and multi-phase vesting models commonly adopted in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space, StandX opted for a one-time liquidation exit using actual stable assets upon confirmation of liquidation.
The official plan clearly states that the distribution target for this airdrop is the platform’s settlement stablecoin, DUSD, with no time lock-ups or linear vesting constraints applied to any allocated shares. According to the schedule, the eligibility check portal will open at 00:00 UTC on October 26 (08:00 Beijing Time on October 26); the claim window will be open from 00:00 on November 1 to 08:00 on December 31. The protocol notes that any DUSD allocation not claimed on-chain before the December 31 deadline will be fully burned and reclaimed according to the preset smart contract rules.
Tiered Liquidation and Liquidity Wind-Down: A One-Year Business Sunset Roadmap
To ensure the smooth settlement of existing positions and reduce on-chain liquidity slippage risk, StandX has established a phased sunset schedule spanning multiple quarters:
Starting October 15, the platform will fully cease all trading reward subsidies and officially close deposit access to the Vault; starting October 20, the perpetual contracts trading section will be fully switched to Reduce-Only risk control mode, and new user address registration and new DUSD minting permissions will be disabled.
After entering 2027, the business will enter the mandatory liquidation phase. On January 15, 2027, the system will forcibly close all open positions based on the on-chain spot mark price at that time, and simultaneously complete the liquidation and settlement of the vault's underlying assets. On January 31, 2027, the platform will officially cut off the official DUSD exchange channel and withdrawal gateway, and fully withdraw all DUSD liquidity provision from PancakeSwap's official liquidity pool and Raydium decentralized exchange protocol.
Reserve asset hard peg and clearing pressure in the derivatives sector
Regarding asset settlement, StandX emphasizes that all currently circulating DUSD is fully backed by adequate reserve assets, with the treasury collateralization ratio maintained at 100% coverage. Holders' rights are protected throughout the sunset transition period by cryptographic on-chain asset safeguards. Users must actively complete decentralized exchange pair conversions or official withdrawals before the liquidity withdrawal deadline of January 31, 2027.
Amid intensifying network effects among leading decentralized perpetuals (Perp DEX) protocols, smaller-scale protocols face high costs of maintaining liquidity and acquiring users. StandX’s decision to voluntarily forgo token issuance and exit gracefully using its reserve assets prior to launch provides a observable case study for orderly protocol wind-downs. All on-chain wind-down operations for the protocol are scheduled to be formally completed at midnight Eastern Time on January 31, 2027.
