Citing ChainCatcher, Stacks has officially integrated with WalletConnect, lowering the barrier for third-party wallets to connect to the Stacks network. Previously, Stacks relied on the Stacks Connect library and SIP-030 standard, with only a few wallets like Leather, Xverse, and Asigna offering native support. The integration allows any WalletConnect-enabled wallet to quickly support Stacks address generation and transaction signing without implementing full Stacks Connect discovery logic. Users will now see a new 'WalletConnect' option in the Stacks Connect modal, and developers can complete the integration by adding the WalletConnect SDK and a few lines of code. The integration is now live on mainnet and is expected to expand wallet compatibility within the Stacks ecosystem, encouraging broader support for STX stacking, sBTC, and Bitcoin Layer 2 applications.
