Odaily Planet Daily News: Stacks founder Muneeb Ali posted on X that the Coldcard security incident offers three key lessons: Bitcoin storage strategies, quantum computing threats, and BTC ecosystem security development.
Muneeb Ali stated that this incident affected many long-term Bitcoin holders who prioritize security and opt for self-custody. He advised users not to hold all their assets in a single solution, but to diversify through ETFs, multisignature schemes, and multiple hardware wallets.
He also noted that quantum computing poses a real threat to cryptographic systems, especially as large language models (LLMs) are accelerating scientific breakthroughs; rather than underestimating the progress of quantum computing, it is better to prepare in advance. Additionally, he believes the Bitcoin ecosystem needs to strengthen collaboration with external security research institutions to avoid isolating security resources due to a “Bitcoin-only” mindset, and called for more security experts to contribute to the BTC ecosystem.
