Huoxing Finance reports that although the circulating supply of stablecoins saw almost no growth in the first nine months of 2026, their use for payments is accelerating. During the same period, stablecoin payment volume reached $482 billion, a 45% year-over-year increase; the number of payment transactions rose to over 1 billion, up 71% year-over-year. On-chain stablecoin card spending reached $3.9 billion, ten times the amount in the same period last year, with 84% of the growth in card transactions coming from purchases under $50. Mastercard, Stripe, and Visa have successively launched services this week to integrate stablecoins into their existing payment systems. Of the $97.9 trillion in original transfers in the first nine months, only 2.5%, or $2.4 trillion, represented end-user activity, with $482 billion of that amount classified as payment volume; stablecoin card spending in the second quarter accounted for just 0.03% of Visa’s $4 trillion payment volume during the same period.
Stablecoin payment volume rises 45% to $482 billion as Mastercard, Stripe, and Visa integrate stablecoin payments.
