ChainThink reports that on August 9, according to relevant sources, Cursor revealed during an all-hands meeting that SpaceX’s $60 billion acquisition of the company could be completed as early as next week, with a latest expected closing by the end of this month.
After the acquisition, Cursor will no longer exist as an independent team but will be integrated into SpaceXAI. The Cursor brand may also be gradually phased out, with future products potentially rebranded under names such as Grok.
The general-purpose Agent 'Sand' currently under development may be renamed to 'Grok Bot'; the existing Cursor programming assistant will not be renamed for now.
