BlockBeats report: On July 6, Gwynne Shotwell, President of SpaceX, announced on Monday that she and her husband will donate 2 million shares of SpaceX stock to the "Trump Account" initiative, providing one share each to over 2 million American children. Based on the current share price of approximately $160, the total value is around $320 million. This announcement comes just days after Trump publicly indicated that SpaceX would participate in the program. She stated that the donation targets children aged 11 to 17 from low-income households, with a focus on recipients near their residence in central Texas.
Previously, Michael Dell and his wife pledged a donation of $6.25 billion, Micron Technology pledged $250 million, and BlackRock, Intel, JPMorgan Chase, and others indicated they would match donations at a rate of $1,000.
Previously, in an interview with CNBC, Trump said he expected Musk to donate SpaceX shares, stating, "I think he will," but Musk has not publicly responded so far. Trump also said his relationship with Musk remains strong, describing their previous differences as "a little friction."
