ChainThink reports that, on July 27, according to the updated list of signatories to the open letter "Open Weights and American AI Leadership," the number of signing organizations has increased from the initial 25 to 77, with SpaceX officially joining the list.
This open letter, jointly issued by companies such as NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Meta, calls on the U.S. government not to prematurely restrict downloadable and self-deployed open-weight models, and to distinguish between legitimate distillation and illegal extraction.
Elon Musk previously shared and expressed support for a post about Jensen Huang on X, but SpaceX was not listed among the signatories at that time. Anthropic has not yet signed the open letter.
