SpaceX Aims to Land Humans on the Moon by 2028

ME News reports that on August 5 (UTC+8), SpaceX executives addressed progress on the Human Landing System (HLS) during the morning earnings call. Elon Musk stated: “For Starship, before carrying humans, we first need to demonstrate its ability to perform satellite launches with extremely high reliability. We expect Starship’s launch frequency to be very high in the future, allowing us to rapidly accumulate sufficient data and flight experience to meet the safety standards required for crewed flights. I believe we can achieve this goal by the end of next year.” SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell added: “From a mission milestone perspective, orbital propellant transfer is a critical technology for both SpaceX’s internal development roadmap and the HLS program. Next year, during the Artemis III mission, our Starship will dock with Orion. Following that, we will conduct an uncrewed cargo mission directly to the Moon.
