Odaily Planet Daily report: SpaceX executives addressed the progress of the Human Landing System (HLS) program during this morning’s earnings call.
Elon Musk said: “For Starship, before we carry humans, we first need to prove it can perform satellite launches with extremely high reliability. We expect Starship’s launch frequency to be very high in the future, allowing us to rapidly accumulate sufficient data and flight experience to reach the safety level required for crewed flights. I believe we can achieve this goal by the end of next year.”
SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell added: “From a mission milestone perspective, propellant transfer is a critical technology for both SpaceX’s internal development initiatives and the HLS (Human Landing System) program. Next year, during the Artemis III mission, our Starship will dock with Orion. Following that, we will conduct an uncrewed cargo mission directly to the Moon. Our goal is to achieve human lunar landing by 2028.”
