Project funding news highlights a strong recovery in Southeast Asia’s blockchain sector, with equity funding reaching $680 million in 2026—over double the $319 million from 2025. Investors are backing fewer companies, with 25 rounds compared to 46 in 2025. Three major deals—CRYPTO’s $400 million Series D, Edena Capital’s $100 million Series D, and Startale’s $50 million Series A—cover 81% of the total. The crypto financial services segment led the charge, raising $498 million across 19 rounds, up 48.4% from last year.

Southeast Asia’s blockchain sector has pulled in $680 million in equity funding so far in 2026, more than doubling the $319 million raised across all of 2025. The catch: investors are writing bigger checks to far fewer companies, with only 25 funding rounds completed this year compared to 46 last year.

Fewer deals, fatter checks

According to data from Tracxn, the 2026 rebound is significant but still well short of the $2.2 billion peak the region hit in 2022. The math this year works out to roughly $27.2 million per deal on average. Compare that to 2022, when 206 rounds divided the funding pie into much smaller slices.

Three deals account for the bulk of this year’s capital. CRYPTO raised $400 million in a Series D round, Edena Capital closed $100 million at the same stage, and Startale pulled in $50 million in a Series A. Together, those three rounds represent more than $550 million, or roughly 81% of the total raised.

The crypto financial services segment has been the primary magnet, attracting $498 million across 19 rounds. That represents a 48.4% year-over-year increase, making it the clearest growth pocket in the region’s blockchain landscape.

Singapore’s gravitational pull

If Southeast Asia’s blockchain economy has a capital, it’s Singapore. The city-state accounts for 82.5% of all historical blockchain funding in the region, a staggering $6.2 billion spread across 1,323 companies.

The maturation thesis

The 2022 funding peak of $2.2 billion now looks like a bubble-era outlier in hindsight. What followed was a brutal correction: funding dropped to $804 million in 2024 and then cratered to $319 million in 2025. The 2026 rebound to $680 million suggests the market has found something closer to a sustainable equilibrium, though the year isn’t over yet.

There’s a tension worth watching in these numbers. The concentration of capital in a handful of large deals means the broader startup ecosystem is getting squeezed. When three rounds absorb 81% of all funding, hundreds of earlier-stage companies are competing for scraps.
