Odaily Planet Daily reports: Skyfall AI, an AI startup founded by former members of Microsoft’s AI team, has announced it will spend up to $1 million to acquire a small B2B SaaS or e-commerce business and attempt to let an AI system fully take over company operations, to test whether an “AI CEO” can manage a real business organization.
Skyfall AI co-founders Sam Pasupalak and CTO Kaheer Suleman believe that the current AI industry is generally focused on creating "autonomous employees"—gradually replacing individual job tasks—but this is not true business automation. They aim to test whether AI can handle end-to-end decision-making across pricing, marketing, customer support, finance, and operations by running a real business.
The goal of this project is to enable AI to serve as the core manager of the company, driving revenue growth with minimal human intervention, while publicly documenting both successes and failures throughout the experiment.
The founder of Skyfall stated that while existing large language models (LLMs) perform well with known knowledge and fixed environments, they still lack sufficient continuous learning capabilities when faced with competitive changes, shifts in customer behavior, and market dynamics. As a result, the company is exploring a new AI architecture called "Enterprise World Models," aiming to enable AI to understand the operational state of enterprises and predict the impact of decisions on future outcomes.
Skyfall AI was founded by members of the Maluuba team. Maluuba was acquired by Microsoft for approximately $160 million in 2017, and its technology later became part of Microsoft’s AI research initiatives in Canada. (Forbes)
