SK Hynix is rapidly expanding its production share of sixth-generation 10nm-class DRAM, the 1c nm process. As 1c DRAM will serve as the core chip stacked in HBM and be used in next-generation high-bandwidth memory, the company is accelerating its process transition. According to industry insiders, SK Hynix’s market share for 1c DRAM rose from approximately 10% in the first quarter of this year to around 13% in the second quarter, and is expected to increase to about 24% in the third quarter and reach roughly 34% in the fourth quarter. In the first quarter of next year, the market share of 1c nm is projected to climb to around 35%, surpassing 1b (approximately 33%) for the first time and becoming the mainstream process. (Jin10)
