BlockBeats news, on August 4, Citrini analyst Jukan, citing Counterpoint Research data, stated that in the second quarter of 2026 DRAM market share figures, SK Hynix leads Micron by only about 1 percentage point in terms of revenue.
Jukan stated that this outcome differs from market expectations, primarily because HBM3E prices did not continue to rise but were instead lowered following renegotiations, and the delayed launch of HBM4 also impacted SK Hynix’s growth outlook.
Additionally, SK Hynix's earlier signing of a long-term supply agreement (LTA) with a fixed supply price reportedly lower than that of its competitors has also impacted its revenue market share performance.
Previously, the market generally believed that SK Hynix would expand its lead during the growth cycle of AI memory demand due to its supply advantage in HBM3E. However, the latest data indicates that Micron is narrowing the gap with SK Hynix.
