Odaily Planet Daily reports that Galaxy Research tracked the movement of 553.59 bitcoins, totaling $40.15 million at the time of transfer, from six Bitcoin wallets that had been inactive since 2011, 2012, and 2014, between August 16 and 26. Two of these wallets are labeled “Salomon Client Dusted,” associated with the Noah Doe lawsuit in New York.
One transfer involved 40 bitcoins from a wallet that had been inactive since May 28, 2012; the funds were transferred on August 26 to Boerse Stuttgart Digital, a cryptocurrency custodial bank in Germany. Calculated at an approximate cost of $5, the funds experienced a gain of approximately 1,535,911%.
Other transfers included 212, 150, and 132.31 bitcoins, respectively, from wallets that had been inactive since 2012, 2014, and 2011. The Noah Doe lawsuit involves seeking to classify 39,069 dormant Bitcoin addresses in New York State as abandoned property, while additional long-held addresses moved funds following the July Coldcard hardware wallet vulnerability incident.
