ChainCatcher report, according to Cryptopolitan, a court in Barcelona is investigating six former Sevilla Football Club players suspected of involvement in the Shirtum crypto project fraud. The newly filed criminal complaint alleges that the project defrauded investors by selling fake NFTs and manipulated tokens, resulting in losses exceeding €24 million (approximately $28 million). The players named in the complaint include Papu Gómez, Lucas Ocampos, Ivan Rakitić, Nico Pareja, Alberto Moreno, and Javier Saviola. According to El Correo de Andalucía, Diego Perotti and Marcelo Guedes also participated in promoting the project. Thirteen Spanish investors have filed a lawsuit with Barcelona’s Fifth Investigating Court, claiming they lost all their funds. Shirtum was marketed as a digital collectibles platform for football, selling “cinematic NFTs” featuring player photos and audio recordings, each priced at around €450. However, complainants state that these NFTs were never minted on any blockchain and are non-transferable or resellable. Additionally, Shirtum promoters reportedly received approximately €3 million in BNB from investors to develop iOS and Android mobile applications, but the apps were never launched, and the funds were neither returned nor accounted for.
