Based on The Crypto Basic, the Shiba Inu ecosystem is preparing a major privacy upgrade for its Layer-2 blockchain, Shibarium, through the integration of Zama’s Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) technology. Marketing executive Lucie confirmed on X that the integration, part of a strategic partnership announced in February 2024, aims to introduce full on-chain privacy and confidential smart contracts by the end of Q2 2026. Zama’s roadmap shows a public testnet is already live on Ethereum’s Sepolia network, with Ethereum mainnet deployment and token generation event planned for late 2025. The integration is expected to enhance privacy, security, and Shibarium’s competitive position, transforming it into a rare FHE-powered privacy chain.
