ChainThink reports that on August 8, according to OneMillion_AI, Google co-founder Sergey Brin has further increased his influence in Google’s AI strategy and is once again deeply involved in Gemini-related initiatives.
Koray Kavukcuoglu, who leads Gemini, has moved to Mountain View and sits at a desk next to Brin.
After ChatGPT went viral, Brin returned to the front lines after having stepped back from Google’s day-to-day operations for years, directly participating in the development of Gemini. Google subsequently worked to catch up from the early setbacks of Bard.
Currently, Demis Hassabis has handed over day-to-day management of DeepMind, and several key Google researchers have resigned in succession.
Although Gemini has completed its phase of catching up, Google still faces competitive pressure from OpenAI and Anthropic in key areas such as programming and enterprise AI.
