ChainThink reports that, on August 4, citing supply chain information from Digitimes, SK Hynix, Micron (MU), and Samsung Electronics have sold out their 2027 DRAM and HBM capacity, with customers currently able to secure only about 60% to 70% of their initial demand.
Serenity stated that current storage supply constraints are worse than market expectations, and 2027 could enter the "most severe storage shortage phase."
Meanwhile, the annual NAND capacity for SanDisk (SNDK), Samsung Electronics, and Micron has already been reserved, and Kioxia and SK Hynix are expected to complete their capacity allocation by August 2026.
Serenity noted that although some market perspectives had anticipated a storage surplus by mid-2027, current conditions across the supply chain show that major storage manufacturers have already sold out their capacity, leaving supply and demand still tight.
The production allocation between manufacturers and customers has largely been finalized, and the final product price will be determined based on market conditions close to delivery.
