Huo Xing Cai Jing reports, according to Substrate on September 18, that semiconductor and AI infrastructure research firm SemiAnalysis is projected to generate over $100 million in revenue this year, with a team of approximately 100 employees. Founder Dylan Patel started the company in 2020 as a WordPress blog; by 2023, annual revenue reached seven figures, with subscription revenue accounting for less than 5% of total income—most revenue coming from data models, its institutional research product Core Research, and consulting services. The company currently operates 12 models covering areas such as networking, fab equipment, foundry services, and energy, supported by around 50 analysts. SemiAnalysis’s clients include most major global technology companies, and its readers include NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Its CoWoS and HBM supply chain model accurately predicted NVIDIA’s quarterly shipment of 400,000 H100 chips; OpenAI used SemiAnalysis’s InferenceX as a third-party benchmark when unveiling its custom chip Jalapeño at Hot Chips. Recently, Dylan Patel raised $500 million for SemiAnalysis Capital Fund I to invest in early-stage startups. The company plans to expand into the energy sector, with analysts engaging directly with various grid and utility stakeholders.
SemiAnalysis projects over $100 million in revenue for 2026.
