ChainCatcher report, according to The Defiant, the perpetual contract for SEI, the native token of the Sei network, has launched for trading on OG.com Markets. The exchange, operated by the North American Derivatives Exchange (Nadex) and regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), provides U.S. investors with a compliant channel to gain leveraged exposure to SEI. Sei officially described this as “another compliant way to access SEI.” The contract was self-certified by the exchange on October 8 and has been listed as a certified product in the CFTC product registry, originally scheduled for listing on October 12. Trading records from October 16 show two trades of 100 SEI each at 4:54 a.m. Eastern Time. The contract is settled in U.S. dollars and has no expiration date, allowing traders to maintain long or short positions without rolling over. Clients must access the contract through a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant or an introducing broker affiliated with one. Each contract represents one SEI token, with a minimum trading unit of 100 contracts, and trading is available 24/7. Funding rates for long and short positions are calculated every eight hours, with a maximum rate of 2% per period, designed to align the futures price with the CF Sei-Dollar spot rate administered by CF Benchmarks. The contract is settled twice daily at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Traders must post initial margin in U.S. dollars based on risk benchmarks; the exchange’s notice indicates that initial margin requirements for its crypto perpetual contracts range from 15% to 30%.
