CoinDesk reports:

Linköping, Sweden, October 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — International cybersecurity and medical imaging IT company Sectra (STO: SECT B) announces that its fixed Sectra Tiger/S secure communication phone has been approved by Swedish authorities. The approval covers communication at the “SECRET” security level, enabling the transmission of highly sensitive information via conference calling functionality between and within Swedish government agencies.

The "Secret" classification applies to information whose unauthorized disclosure could harm national security. Such information must be transmitted using approved security solutions that meet the requirements of the corresponding classification level to prevent unauthorized access and ensure protection against future technological developments for a minimum period of 30 to 40 years.

Magnus Skogberg, President of Sectra Communications, said: "Our new solution's approval at the 'Secret' level demonstrates that it meets the highest security requirements and confirms our ability to deliver solutions that civil and military defense can rely on in the most critical environments."

The newly approved fixed-line telephone is the latest addition to the Sectra Tiger/S family of quantum-resistant products. This product family also includes a mobile version, which has already been approved by national security authorities, the European Union, and NATO for use in communications up to the “Secret” classification level. The company states that the mobile version can transmit information up to “Secret” level in mobile scenarios, while the fixed version adds point-to-point conference calling functionality to enhance collaboration efficiency. Since both versions belong to the same system, fixed and mobile terminals can communicate with each other.

Magnus Skogberg said: “Maintaining secure communication capabilities is an absolute necessity for secure collaboration. In such scenarios, multiple people often gather in the same room and need to join a ‘top secret’ call. With this approved fixed-line phone, they can do so with high audio quality, making communication more efficient and collaboration among key stakeholders more secure. This is an essential component of strengthening our national security.”
