In accordance with Coinrise, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has closed its two-year investigation into Ondo Finance. The agency ended the review without recommending any charges. The investigation, which began in October 2023, focused on whether Ondo followed securities rules while offering tokenized U.S. Treasury products and whether its native ONDO token should be considered a security. Ondo received formal notice of the closure in late November. The decision reflects a broader shift in the SEC’s approach to crypto enforcement, with the agency closing most crypto-related investigations since the appointment of Chair Paul Atkins. The ONDO token rose over 6% in a single day following the news. Ondo Finance has registered as an investment adviser and acquired Oasis Pro Markets, a regulated broker-dealer, to strengthen its regulatory base and expand its tokenization services in the U.S. market.
