The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has closed its four-year probe into the Aave protocol, with no enforcement action recommended, per a letter from founder Stani Kulechov. The SEC said it will not pursue a case, but stressed this does not mean approval of the project. Kulechov said the investigation weighed heavily on the project team and reflected broader DeFi regulatory challenges in the U.S. The resolution offers clarity, letting the protocol team focus on development as crypto firms look abroad for friendlier rules.
