The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has banned FTX executives Caroline Ellison, Gary Wang, and Nishad Singh from leadership roles for 8 to 10 years. Ellison, ex-CEO of Alameda Research, gets a 10-year bar, while Wang and Singh each face eight-year restrictions. The SEC claims they misused customer funds from 2019 to 2022, contributing to the collapse of the exchange. The bans include five-year conduct-based injunctions to ensure compliance with securities laws. The move reflects increased regulatory focus on liquidity and crypto markets, as part of wider enforcement following the FTX scandal and efforts under Countering the Financing of Terrorism.
