ChainThink reports that on September 2, according to X platform, Saudi AI company HUMAIN released the HUMAIN M3 model, initially claiming it was a "100% Saudi model." Following scrutiny, the publisher, Sultan Alfaifi, clarified that the model was developed based on MiniMax’s M3 model from the Chinese AI company.
HUMAIN M3 and MiniMax M3 both employ a mixture-of-experts architecture, with a total of 428 billion parameters and 23 billion activated parameters.
HUMAIN states that it underwent fine-tuning using over one trillion Arabic tokens, with a focus on enhancing Arabic language proficiency, local culture, agent intelligence, tool usage, and computer operations.
The model achieved an average score of 89.37% across seven Arabic benchmarks, with plans to release the model weights and deploy it on servers within Saudi Arabia.
Max For AI believes this collaboration demonstrates that Chinese models are evolving from merely providing APIs and products to becoming the foundational technology for other nations building sovereign AI systems.
