Odaily Planet Daily reports that on July 30, Samsung Electronics disclosed it will invest a total of 800 billion KRW to support potential technology reserves for its semiconductor startup investment and finished product business DX division. The investment will be used to establish technology and business partnerships through equity investments in semiconductor startups both domestically and internationally.
Among these, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Venture Investment will jointly invest 505 billion KRW to join SVIC No. 82, a new technology business investment portfolio, with Samsung Venture Investment contributing 5 billion KRW. This portfolio is scheduled to join next month, has a duration of 13 years, and requires installment payments upon investment occurrences. Samsung Electronics will also jointly invest 303 billion KRW with Samsung Venture Investment to join SVIC No. 83, a new technology business investment portfolio, with Samsung Venture Investment contributing 3 billion KRW. This portfolio is intended to support the DX Division in identifying future technologies and enhancing business competitiveness, has a duration of 10 years, and requires installment payments upon investment occurrences.
