Samsung Electronics reported an operating profit of 8.94 trillion Korean won for the second quarter, in line with prior estimates; revenue amounted to 17.1 trillion Korean won, also meeting expectations.

Samsung Electronics stated that demand for server chips remains strong in the second half of the year, and chip supply shortages are expected to persist. Meanwhile, the memory business is anticipated to benefit from ongoing capital expenditures on AI infrastructure and growing demand for broader autonomous AI applications.

The company stated that demand for mobile and PC chips is expected to slow, and the memory business will still face uncertainty in the second half of the year. Additionally, Samsung plans to increase its smartphone market share in the second half of the year, with its contract manufacturing business expected to achieve double-digit revenue growth this year.
