BlockBeats news, on June 26, according to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Energy has drafted a government resolution proposing to ban cryptocurrency mining in the city of Moscow, Moscow Oblast, and parts of Kursk Oblast starting July 1, 2026, with the ban lasting until December 31, 2032.

Russian authorities estimate that 65 data centers, with a total power capacity of 734 megawatts, are currently operational in Moscow City and Moscow Oblast, including 19 data centers in Moscow Oblast with a combined power capacity of 233 megawatts.
