RQD* Clearing, a New York-based clearing firm, raised $74M in a minority growth investment led by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities. ABN AMRO Clearing Bank and Nyca Partners also participated. The funding will support expansion and development of digital asset infrastructure. Ecosystem growth is a focus as the firm builds out tokenization systems.

Post-trade infrastructure is not the sexiest corner of finance. But it is where every trade goes to either live or die, and right now, a New York-based clearing firm called RQD* Clearing just convinced some serious money that this particular corner is about to get a lot more interesting.

RQD* Clearing closed a $74M minority growth investment on August 27, 2026, led by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities, with participation from ABN AMRO Clearing Bank and Nyca Partners. The capital is earmarked for geographic expansion across North America, Asia, and the Middle East, plus an accelerated push into digital assets and tokenization infrastructure.

The numbers behind the pitch

RQD* is not pitching a vision without a track record. The firm has processed over 543 million ledger transactions and cleared approximately 515 million equity transactions, representing roughly 2.43% of the National Market System equities market and translating to nearly $2 trillion in notional value.

On the options side, the firm cleared 64.8 million contracts with a premium value of $120.7 billion, representing about 0.63% of the options market, against a notional value of $3.93 trillion.

The funding round did not arrive in isolation. RQD* previously raised a $10M Series A in October 2023 and received a strategic investment from Gentree Fund in May 2026. The company, founded between 2019 and 2021 and headquartered at 1 World Trade Center, has been building toward this moment in deliberate steps.

Why tokenization needs new plumbing

In March 2026, the firm announced a partnership with Blue Ocean ATS specifically to develop clearing infrastructure for tokenized NMS equities, NMS being the regulatory framework that governs US stock trading. The firm also launched on the EquiLend trading platform in April 2026, expanding its reach into securities lending.

ABN AMRO Clearing Bank’s participation in this round is worth noting separately. ABN AMRO is one of Europe’s largest clearing firms, active across global derivatives and equity markets.

What this means for institutional digital asset adoption

The firm’s target clients tell you a lot about where it sees the market heading. RQD* focuses on broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and foreign institutions seeking access to US markets.
