Derived from Coindesk, Robinhood (HOOD) is developing a three-phase tokenization roadmap to transition traditional finance into a permissionless ecosystem. The first phase involves its tokenized stock offering in Europe, which includes nearly 800 publicly traded securities and will expand to private equity. Phase 2 aims to enable 24/7 trading via its acquisition of Bitstamp, while phase 3 will allow tokenized stocks to be used as permissionless assets across decentralized applications. A.J. Warner of Offchain Labs, which developed Arbitrum for Robinhood, highlighted the technical challenges of integrating legacy systems with Ethereum-compatible smart contracts.
