Odaily Planet News: Robinhood (HOOD) has announced its participation in the Series B expansion funding round of Talos, a provider of cryptocurrency trading infrastructure. This round raised $45 million, bringing the total Series B funding for Talos to $150 million, and increasing the company's valuation to approximately $1.5 billion. New strategic investors include Sony Innovation Fund, IMC, QCP, and Karatage. Existing shareholders a16z crypto, BNY, and Fidelity Investments have also continued their participation.
Talos primarily provides cryptocurrency transaction lifecycle technology to institutional investors and banks, with the combined asset under management (AUM) of its clients amounting to approximately $21 trillion. This funding will help Talos deepen its blockchain strategy and support its M&A expansion. Previously, Talos had acquired Cloudwall (risk management), Skolem (institutional-grade DeFi), D3X Systems (portfolio construction), and Coin Metrics for over $100 million.
