Robinhood Chain’s trading volume hit $34.6 billion in two months, according to on-chain data. The Arbitrum-based Layer 2 launched on July 1, 2026, and daily trading volumes ranged from $989 million to $3.7 billion. Uniswap dominated DEX activity, contributing 77% to over 90% on peak days. The chain ranked in the top five by DEX volume in its first week, with TVL reaching $708 million in August.

Robinhood’s blockchain bet is paying off faster than most expected. The Robinhood Chain, an Arbitrum-based Ethereum Layer 2 that went live on July 1, has seen its cumulative decentralized exchange volume reach approximately $34.6 billion by early September, with activity ramping up at an accelerating pace.

The chain ranked among the top five chains by DEX volume in its very first week, when it logged roughly $3.1 billion in cumulative trades. Daily volumes during that initial stretch hovered around $500 million or more. By early September, peak daily trading volumes were spiking between $989 million and over $3.7 billion.

What’s driving the surge

Two forces are colliding on Robinhood Chain to produce these numbers: memecoins and tokenized equities.

On the memecoin side, CASHCAT has been the standout performer, with its market cap peaking above $100 million during early trading frenzies.

Tokenized versions of stocks like NVDA and AAPL have generated billions in cumulative trade volume on the chain. Trading equities on a DEX, with 24/7 availability and permissionless access, represents a genuine structural shift from the traditional brokerage model that Robinhood itself helped popularize.

Uniswap has been the dominant venue for this activity, accounting for somewhere between 77% and over 90% of DEX volume on peak trading days.

Liquidity metrics tell a similar story

Total value locked hit approximately $708 million in August, representing 100% month-over-month growth. For a chain that had been live for roughly eight weeks at that point, it signals genuine capital commitment rather than just wash trading or temporary incentive farming.

Stablecoin supply on the chain reached approximately $770 million, a 47% monthly increase.

The retail gap remains

Despite the impressive on-chain metrics, Robinhood Chain’s activity appears to be driven primarily by crypto-native users rather than the company’s massive traditional retail brokerage base.

Robinhood’s core app serves tens of millions of users who trade stocks, options, and crypto through a familiar, centralized interface. The chain was designed, at least in part, to bridge those users into DeFi. That bridge hasn’t fully materialized yet.

The $100 billion milestone claimed in some reports contrasts with the research-supported figure of $34.6 billion in cumulative DEX volume reached in roughly two months — still placing Robinhood Chain in notable company among Layer 2 networks.
