Ripple has launched a test of its RLUSD stablecoin in Singapore’s MAS BLOOM sandbox for trade finance, according to on-chain news. The project, in collaboration with Unloq, uses the XRP Ledger to automate cross-border payments via RLUSD when conditions such as freight verification are met. The trial integrates trade obligations and settlement into a single layer using Unloq’s SC+ platform and RLUSD. This initiative is part of ongoing crypto developments in stablecoin innovation for trade finance.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Ripple has announced its participation in the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s (MAS) BLOOM initiative, testing the use of RLUSD stablecoin in cross-border trade payments within its regulatory sandbox. Ripple is collaborating with supply chain finance technology provider Unloq to pilot a system built on the XRP Ledger that automatically triggers cross-border trade payments in RLUSD when predefined conditions—such as cargo verification—are met, replacing traditional trade finance processes that rely on manual verification and correspondent banking relationships.

This pilot integrates trade obligations, settlement terms, and financing workflows into a single execution layer, with fund transfers settled via RLUSD on the XRP Ledger. This is Ripple’s third major move in three weeks, following its expansion of Ripple Payments into a full-stack stablecoin infrastructure platform and its acquisition of an Australian financial services license.
