According to Huoxing Finance, on October 19, Ripple’s institutional brokerage arm, Ripple Prime, launched perpetual swaps on real-world assets (RWA), offering institutional clients continuous trading across more than 100 reference markets, including individual stocks, stock indices, ETFs, metals, energy, and foreign exchange. The product is executed with Ripple Prime as the counterparty, with pricing based on perpetual contracts listed on the decentralized derivatives platform Hyperliquid by Trade.xyz; it does not involve ownership of the underlying assets or physical settlement. Michael Higgins, Ripple Prime’s International CEO, stated that the product bridges traditional markets with digital infrastructure. Clients can cross-margin these positions against other assets on the platform, and eligible users may also use RLUSD as collateral. Market maker Virtu is among the early adopters. This service is currently offered under a license in the British Virgin Islands, with plans to expand to additional regions.
