Ripple made a partnership announcement with Privy, a Stripe-owned digital wallet infrastructure provider, to embed Privy’s wallet tech into the XRP Ledger. This will let developers build apps for XRP, RLUSD, and other digital assets without users handling private keys. The collaboration targets fintech firms, payment providers, and AI apps, with AI agents now using the x402 protocol to process transactions. Ripple said AI agents have already handled 13 million payments on the XRP Ledger, making up 25% of all network activity. This digital asset news highlights growing use cases for the XRP Ledger.

Ripple, a leading company in the cryptocurrency sector, announced a strategic partnership with Privy, a digital wallet infrastructure provider owned by payment giant Stripe, to expand the use cases of its XRP Ledger (XRPL) network.

According to Ripple’s statement, as part of the partnership, Privy’s embedded wallet technology will be integrated into the XRP Ledger network. This will allow developers to create applications that enable payments with XRP, Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD, and other digital assets on the network, without users needing to directly manage their private keys or recovery phrases.

The new integration is expected to offer significant opportunities, particularly for financial technology companies, payment service providers, and AI-based applications. Thanks to Privy’s infrastructure, developers will be able to programmatically create, manage, and sign wallets on the XRP Ledger. Users, meanwhile, will be able to export their private keys and recovery phrases when needed, maintaining control and portability of their assets.

One of the notable aspects of the partnership is that it will allow AI agents to independently conduct financial transactions. Ripple stated that, thanks to programmable wallets, AI agents will be able to hold digital assets and perform autonomous transactions via the x402 payment protocol.

On the other hand, Privy stated that the number of accounts with funds on the XRP Ledger network, which has been operating for over 14 years, has exceeded 8 million, and that over $1 trillion in value has been transferred through the network to date.

Markus Infanger, Senior Vice President of RippleX at Ripple, stated in his assessment of the partnership that Privy’s wallet infrastructure will make it easier for developers to integrate XRP Ledger technology into real financial products.
