Ripple CTO David Schwartz explained on X that event contracts are derivative instruments, dependent on the underlying event, not the event itself. This follows Coinbase’s lawsuits in several U.S. states over trading restrictions. The exchange plans to launch event contract trading nationwide in 2026 via its Kalshi partnership. Altcoins to watch may see shifts as trading volume trends evolve with new product offerings.
