BlockBeats news, on February 4, a Reuters survey showed that gold is expected to hit a new high in 2026, with geopolitical uncertainty and strong central bank buying remaining the main driving factors. A survey conducted over the past three weeks among 30 analysts and traders showed that the median forecast for the gold price in 2026 is $4,746.50 per ounce, the highest annual forecast since Reuters began the survey in 2012, a significant increase from the $4,275 estimated in October last year.
In a similar survey a year ago, the average price expectation for 2026 was only 2,700 dollars. Analysts believe that the factors driving up gold prices—including geopolitical risks, continued central bank gold purchases, concerns about the Federal Reserve's independence, rising U.S. debt, trade uncertainty, and the "dollar de-pegging" trend—will continue to support gold in 2026.
Silver price forecasts have also been raised, with the average price for 2026 now expected to be $79.50 per ounce, compared to an expectation of just $50 for 2026 in the survey from October last year. (Golden 10)
