A new report by Cointelegraph and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime reveals that several crypto projects in the Central African Republic lack **Anti-Money Laundering** safeguards and **crypto compliance** measures, raising concerns about their potential use in international crime. The report warns that tokenizing mining rights could open doors for money laundering and illegal trade. Government officials dismissed the findings as politically motivated, stating the projects aim to challenge traditional banking systems. The country, which adopted Bitcoin as legal tender in 2022, has also launched a national Meme coin, CAR.
