Breaking News from Beating AI: U.S. fintech company Ramp has announced a $1.85 billion funding round, valuing the company at $60 billion. The round was led by Dragoneer, with co-leaders including Thrive Capital and Founders Fund. Just four months ago, Ramp raised $750 million at a $4.4 billion valuation—now, its valuation has surged by another $16 billion in only four months. Founded in 2019, Ramp initially offered corporate credit cards and expense management; today, its services have expanded to payments, procurement, and financial reconciliation. The company now serves over 85,000 businesses—an increase of 15,000 since June this year. Its annualized payment volume exceeds $275 billion, a 175% year-over-year growth, while annualized revenue surpasses $2 billion, with positive cash flow. Based on the latest valuation, this equates to roughly 30 times annualized revenue. Ramp is now extending enterprise financial management into AI spending. Co-CEO Eric Glyman previously revealed that in May, the company spent as much as $1.5 million on tokens in a single week. In response, Ramp has commercialized its internal cost-management capabilities by launching AI Token Spend Management, enabling businesses to track expenses by employee, model, and API key. Its accompanying Router selects more cost-effective and performance-appropriate models for different tasks, with the company claiming customers achieve an average 40% reduction in inference costs. On October 13, Ramp also opened early access to its AI work platform, Glass, allowing employees to share prompts, skills, and automated workflows while tracking token consumption for each task. Early investor Keith Rabois even told TechCrunch that Ramp’s goal is not to compete with enterprise software companies like Rippling, but to become the primary entry point for managing AI token spending and ROI—ultimately positioning itself to compete with Anthropic.
