QuickSwap DAO has approved a six-month migration for Old QUICK to New QUICK, part of ongoing on-chain news updates. The migration, starting August 4, 2026, offers a 1:1,000 rate until November 4, 2026, with rates declining over time. The process ends on February 5, 2027. Old QUICK no longer supports governance or staking, while New QUICK will serve as the platform’s primary governance and staking token. The move aims to simplify the token ecosystem ahead of major platform upgrades and new token listings.

QuickSwap’s DAO has formally greenlit a six-month migration window for converting Old QUICK tokens into New QUICK, with conversion rates that get progressively worse the longer holders wait. The vote passed on August 4, 2026, and the clock is now ticking toward a final cutoff date of February 5, 2027.

The conversion math

The migration follows a tiered schedule designed to reward urgency. Until November 4, 2026, holders can swap Old QUICK for New QUICK at the full 1:1,000 ratio. After that date, the rate drops to 1:750. On December 5, it falls again to 1:500. By January 5, 2027, the ratio shrinks to 1:250. On February 5, 2027, the migration contract closes permanently.

Someone holding 100 Old QUICK who converts before November gets 100,000 New QUICK. Wait until January and the same 100 tokens only yield 25,000 New QUICK.

Old QUICK carries a maximum supply of 1 million tokens and no longer holds any governance or staking utility. It exists solely as a vessel for conversion. New QUICK, with a total supply of 1 billion tokens, serves as the platform’s governance and staking asset, enabling revenue sharing through community participation via Snapshot voting.

Why the migration exists in the first place

QuickSwap’s community voted to redenominate the token back in 2022, splitting the supply from 1 million to 1 billion. Having two versions of the same token floating around complicates governance quorum calculations and liquidity pool management, and streamlining the token ecosystem into a single asset is a prerequisite for the platform’s forthcoming upgrades.

QuickSwap operates as a decentralized exchange primarily on the Polygon network, offering trading, liquidity provision, yield farms, and perpetuals across both Polygon and Base.

Recent governance moves signal an active community

One notable recent vote approved the burning of 20 million New QUICK tokens from the community treasury. Separately, there’s a proposal on the table to migrate QuickSwap’s perpetuals platform to Orbs Network infrastructure.

What this means for holders

Any unconverted Old QUICK after February 5, 2027 will carry zero utility and zero conversion value. Combined with the 20 million token burn from the treasury, QuickSwap appears to be making deliberate moves to tighten its token’s supply profile heading into the next phase of platform development.
