In accordance with Bitcoin.com, privacy-focused cryptocurrencies have experienced a notable resurgence in 2025, driven by increased demand for financial discretion amid heightened regulatory scrutiny. Zcash (ZEC) led the charge, surging 780.3% year-to-date from $59.42 to $523 per coin. Monero (XMR) and Dash (DASH) also posted gains of 103.54% and 71.74%, respectively. However, not all privacy coins benefited; Horizen (ZEN) and COTI saw declines of 59% and 75%, respectively. The renewed interest is attributed to growing concerns over data collection and surveillance in the financial sector.
