On September 9, Pons founder Ozzy addressed news regarding exchange listings, denying claims of post-listing tax rate changes. The initial Uniswap V4 pool was configured with a 0% tax and a 1% Hook fee. Some terminals incorrectly routed trades to high-tax pools, including malicious “vampire pools,” resulting in inflated tax rates. Ozzy urged terminals to correct the routing errors. Users observing tax rates above 1% are likely experiencing routing issues, not changes due to new interest rate announcements.

ChainCatcher report: On September 9, Ozzy, founder and lead developer of Pons, responded in a post stating that the tax rate cannot be modified after token listing, and claims that “Pons can adjust the tax rate after listing” are incorrect. Ozzy explained that the initial Uniswap V4 pool for Pons was set with a 0% tax rate and a 1% hook fee, with full disclosure on all transactions. Due to router configuration issues on some platforms, buy and sell orders were incorrectly routed to liquidity pools with higher tax rates, including vampire pools created by malicious actors, resulting in displayed tax rates that appeared abnormally high—this was not due to Pons modifying the tax rate after launch. Ozzy has requested the affected platforms to correct the misrouting and stated that if users see a tax rate higher than 1%, it is likely due to routing to an incorrect pool, unless the deployer originally set a higher rate at launch.
