ChainThink reports that on September 9, Ozzy, founder and lead developer of Pons, posted a response addressing the controversy over "post-launch tax rate adjustments for tokens on the platform," clearly stating that such adjustments are neither supported nor possible after launch, and that related market claims are incorrect.
Pons explained that the Uniswap V4 pools initialized by Pons are liquidity pools with a 0% tax and a 1% hook fee, which is clearly disclosed on all trades.
However, due to router configuration issues, some trading terminals may incorrectly route buy and sell orders to high-tax liquidity pools, causing users to see tax rates above 1% or experience fluctuations. When malicious actors perform a "vamp" on liquidity pools, certain terminals may also display higher tax rates as a result.
Ozzy stated that the relevant trading terminals have been instructed to correct this issue.
Pons emphasized that seeing a tax rate above 1% most likely indicates that the transaction was routed to an incorrect liquidity pool, unless the token deployer had already set a higher rate at launch—this does not prove that Pons modified the tax rate after launch.
