Polymarket has secured a multiyear exclusive agreement to become the official US prediction market partner for Serie A, Italy’s top-flight soccer league. The deal, confirmed around May 14, 2026, makes Polymarket the only prediction platform in the US authorized to use Serie A branding, logos, and official data feeds.
Here’s the thing: this is not a streaming deal. Early chatter suggested Polymarket was somehow getting into the business of broadcasting Italian soccer matches to American living rooms. That’s not what happened.
What the deal actually includes
Under the agreement, Polymarket gains exclusive rights to Serie A branding and access to data feeds sourced from Genius Sports. No video distribution or streaming rights are included in the partnership.
Ari Borod, a representative from Polymarket, framed the deal as part of a broader strategy to build out a credible ecosystem ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament is set to take place across North America this summer, and the timing of these partnerships is clearly not accidental.
Three leagues in five months
Serie A is actually Polymarket’s third major soccer league partnership this year. The platform struck a deal with Major League Soccer back in January, then followed up with LaLiga in April. Adding Serie A in May completes a hat trick of sorts, giving Polymarket official relationships with three of the most-watched soccer competitions globally.
Why this matters for the prediction market landscape
The integration of official Genius Sports data feeds is the technical detail that deserves the most attention here. Data integrity has been a persistent problem in prediction markets and sports betting more broadly. By plugging directly into the same data infrastructure that powers traditional sportsbooks, Polymarket is essentially arguing that its blockchain-based prediction markets deserve the same level of trust.
The 2026 tournament will be hosted across the US, Mexico, and Canada, meaning domestic interest in soccer will likely hit levels Americans aren’t accustomed to. The Serie A deal also aligns with the league’s ambition to broaden its audience in the American market, which benefits from English and Spanish broadcasting agreements until the 2025-26 season.
